03-05-2010 The HIGHS and lows of the past double weekend
Another double weekend where we faced Oranje-Zwart and SCHC, both away.

The first match of the weekend was against OZ. When we last met in November we played to a 3-3 draw, with a number of missed chances for both teams to win it. Friday's match was far more controlled. We took the lead through a faint deflection in the early minutes, but quickly gave that lead away when we were undone by a fine aerial ball. OZ then went 2-1 in the lead. We scored before half time to go 2-2 into the break.

The second half was some of our finest hockey of the season. OZ's defence did well to not give away any corners with the amount of pressure we put on the them. Still it was their precision on short corner attack which made the difference, when they scored their 2nd chance, and with it the lead. With just three minutes remaining we scored with Bas Campbell getting the equalizer to secure a much needed point.

Final score 3-3.

The match on Sunday was a good opportunity to put a big gap between ourselves and the playout zone. On an almost flooded pitch we proceeded to undo all our hard work from Friday afternoon by playing some of our worst hockey of the season. The half time score line of 5-1 indicated what kind of match we were having. SCHC took every chance they had, and showed how desperate they were not to be the team who is automatically removed from the Hoofdklasse. We on the other hand showed no resistance and it took a whole half of hockey until we turned things around. By this stage it was far too late and SCHC were happy to defend and relieve pressure with aerial after aerial Our two goals in the second half was not enough to even get a point, and we have only ourselves to blame. The win was SCHC's first of the season!

Final score 5-3 loss
