10-05-2010 Comfortable win means we should be safe!
What a weekend, and what a turn around from the Sunday before against SCHC. We had a good week training, and it certainly showed in our performance on Sunday against Hurley. It was a big game for Hurley, a win could have seen them pull 4 points away from SCHC, and avoid automatic relegation. We on the other hand were motivated by the opportunity to stay clear of the playoffs.

Playing at home always seems that little bit easier, familiar surroundings, not travelling and of course having the 2nd team heckle the opponents (always a good laugh once I've heard the translation). We opened the scoring, but it was back to 1-1 after a few minutes. Hurley never really put us under a great deal of pressure and we created goal scoring opportunitites throughout the first half. It was good to go into half time 5-1 up as opposed to 1-5 down as we did last week.

The second half saw little change in momentum from the 1st half. Hurley managed to convert a penalty corner, but we did enough to see finish the game off. The comfortable 7-2 win means we are just about certain not to enter the playoff zone and are guaranteed a spot in next years Hoofdklasses League.

We play Bloemendaal at home on Thursday and our final game of the season on Sunday is against Pinoke away.

See below how the table looks with just two games to go.
