SA Hockey Star Austin Smith Signs Up with Incubator Sports

SA National Men’s Hockey Captain Austin Smith has signed up with Incubator Sports (www.incubatorsports.com) to help develop the country’s rising hockey stars. Incubator Sports is an online networking platform for athletes across a host of sports. A South African innovation, the high-tech Incubator Sports platform allows for quick, easy and accurate connections between athletes, coaches, fans, institutions, and support structures like medical & rehabilitation professionals and sports agents.

28 year-old Smith has represented South Africa 125 times since his senior debut in March 2004, aged just 18. He was handed the Captaincy in 2008, leading the scoring charts for his country at the Olympics in Beijing and being named Men’s Player of the year for both SA and Reading. He captained the side at the 2012 Olympics in London and is currently leading his side at Den Bosch in Holland.

Incubator Sports Founder Mike Rowley says that Austin’s insights into the development of young players across the country will be invaluable to the young players signing up for the service. “Austin’s knowledge of the game and passion for the further development of the sport make him a fantastic ambassador and Incubator Sports is proud to have him on board,” says Rowley. “He’ll help us attract SA’s premier young talent and network with hockey institutions and sponsors”.

Incubator Sports harnesses the networking power of social media to help athletes promote themselves. They can share videos, update their statistics, unlock fitness badge indicators, rate other profiles and share all their information on the plethora of other social media networks which keep everyone connected. Incubator Sports is open to any sportsperson – social, amateur or professional.
